The award-winning Canadian band Nickelback returns to Vancouver Island after 20 years for a historic performance at Laketown Amphitheatre on Aug. 9.

Fans across the island and beyond will have the rare opportunity to witness one of Canada’s most successful rock bands perform under the stars in one of the country’s most scenic and well-equipped outdoor venues.

Formed in Hanna, Alberta, Nickelback has been a defining force in rock music for more than 25 years.

With more than 50 million albums sold worldwide, as well as more than 10 billion streams, they are one of the most successful rock bands of all time.

Their signature blend of anthemic rock and heartfelt lyrics has resonated with millions, earning them a Diamond-certified album (All the Right Reasons), 12 Juno Awards, and multiple Grammy nominations.

Their chart-topping hits, including How You Remind Me, Photograph, Rockstar and Burn It to the Ground, continue to dominate airwaves and playlists worldwide.

Nickelback’s return to Vancouver Island is a momentous occasion for the region’s music fans.

As a band that has carried the Canadian rock torch on the global stage, their impact on the industry is undeniable.

Inducted into Canada’s Walk of Fame and recently named to the Canadian Music Hall of Fame, Nickelback has cemented their legacy as one of the nation’s most enduring musical acts.

Supporting Nickelback will be The Glorious Sons and Sam Roberts Band, two of the country’s most celebrated rock acts.

The Glorious Sons are known for their gritty, energetic sound and chart-topping hits like S.O.S. (Sawed Off Shotgun) and Everything Is Alright.

Sam Roberts Band has delivered timeless hits such as Brother Down, Don’t Walk Away Eileen, and We’re All in This Together, making them the perfect addition to this powerhouse lineup.

Starting off the weekend’s festivities, Laketown Amphitheatre will host a Kick-Off Party on the Flats Stage on Aug. 8, featuring Garret T. Willie and other special guests.

Known for his raw blues-rock sound and powerful storytelling, Garret T. Willie is one of the region’s most exciting emerging artists.

Laketown Amphitheatre, located at Laketown Ranch in Lake Cowichan, is also known for hosting events such as fan-favourite Sunfest Country Music Festival, which runs this year from July 31 to Aug. 3.

This highly anticipated show promises to be one of the most unforgettable concerts of the summer, bringing together rock lovers for a night of epic music and Canadian pride.

Admission and camping passes go on sale on March 21 at 9 a.m. at laketownamphitheatre.com.
