Langley is now a must-visit destination for locally made wine and craft beer. With a wide range of options to suit every taste, these award-winning wineries, cideries and craft breweries are committed to their craft, passionate about their work, and proud to call the Langley area home. Come for the spirits, stay for the welcoming atmosphere and unique experiences you’ll encounter during your visit

Backyard Vineyards – 3033 232 St., backyardvineyards.ca, 604-539-9463

Come for: Exceptional BC VQA wines in a local setting. Since 2009, Backyard Vineyards has produced award-winning varietals, blended and bubbly wines from BC grapes grown on-site, complemented with fruit selected from the Fraser Valley and South Okanagan.

Stay for: A guided tour of the vineyard and winery production area. Book a private tour, wine tasting, or combination tour and tasting. Tastings feature a flight of three wines at the tasting bar. Visitors can select from red, white, or rose wine packages.

Blackwood Lane Vineyards & Winery – 25180 8 St., blackwoodlane.ca, 604-856-5787

Come for: Award-winning wines made from the best grapes of the Okanagan Valley, in the Oliver-Osoyoos area. This, combined with old-fashioned, traditional, proven techniques and quality, creates wines that are winning accolades and praise from wine lovers and connoisseurs all over.

Stay for: Fun, friendly, and informative wine tastings. Tastings feature white, rose, and red wine tasting great for the oenophile or those who are new to wine. Experience Bonus Vita et Bonus Amici – Good Life and Good Friends, a fitting motto for Blackwood Lane.

Come for: Quality craft beers, which are – for the most part – lower in alcohol and higher in flavour. Brewing everything from lager and farmhouse ale to IPA and porter, Camp Beer Co. focuses on high quality, control, and consistency.

Stay for: The oversized outdoor patio and glass roll-up doors to the tasting room and brewery mean customers can relax and enjoy their beer in the great outdoors. Camp Beer Co. is founded by local owners with roots in the homebrew community.

Chaberton Estate Winery and Bacchus Bistro – 1064 216 St., chabertonwinery.com, 604-530-1736, 604-530-9694

Come for: More than 20 wines, all BC VQA from grapes sourced from three of the grape growing regions in BC – the Fraser, Similkameen and Okanagan Valleys. The oldest winery in the Fraser Valley, Chaberton wines have won numerous awards.

Stay for: Tastings in a boutique tasting room, winery tours, and dining with authentic French cuisine overlooking the 55-acre vineyard.

Dead Frog Brewery – 8860 201 St. #105, deadfrog.ca, 604-856-1055

Come for: Small-batch brewed beer with premium ingredients and no preservatives or pasteurization. All of Dead Frog Brewery’s beer is brewed 55 feet from their taps and poured directly from their cooler.

Stay for: Tasting room pints, flights and eats – like street tacos, bistro sandwiches, wings and nachos. Enjoy events at the tasting room including launch parties, cask nights, Brewmaster dinners, trivia nights and more.

Come for: Consistent flavours available year-round. Core beers include IPA, pilsner and ale. With every can, bottle, glass, or growler they fill, the team at Farm Country Brewing strives to deliver exceptional customer service.

Stay for: Samples and eats in the tasting room. Grab a bucket of beer and sample four different styles on tap, or choose a 12-ounce or 16-ounce pour. Eats include pretzels, sandwiches and snacks like beef jerky and chips.

Come for: Premium honey wines. Surprisingly dry, food-friendly and delightful on the palate, Festina Lente Estate Winery puts a modern, sophisticated twist on the ancient art of mead or honey wines.

Stay for: A visit to the tasting room and learn about how Festina Lente takes care of wines from bee to bottle. Visitors can also view the four horses, 30 chickens, and other farm animals while they tour the five-acre hobby farm.

Come for: A core lineup and rotating taps featuring beers brewed with passion and pride. Their brewing philosophy guides the team at Five Roads Brewing on the path to making delicious, well-rounded beers – while pairing the traditional with the contemporary.

Stay for: Connecting with others in the community in the tasting room. In addition to a variety of beers on tap and local wine, customers can enjoy pizzas, paninis, charcuterie and snacks and more.

Come for: Grape-free wine made from local BC fruit. The Fort Wine Co. makes 10 delicious wines to be enjoyed by the glass or paired with fine cheeses and a variety of appetizers and entrees.

Stay for: Beautiful Fraser Valley views while sipping and sampling at the bistro or tasting bar. Private winery tours are available and the retail store carries a range of products including wine accessories, wine jellies and balsamic vinegars.

Come for: Handcrafted ciders made in small batches using traditional techniques and freshly-pressed BC apples. Backed by an orchard with 1,800 trees and 25 varieties of cider apples, the cidery provides a dozen ciders ranging from dry and honey to English-style and ginger cider.

Stay for: A tour around the cidery and a picnic lunch. Enjoy a charcuterie plate with your cider featuring a mix of meats and cheeses sourced from local farms and producers, accompanied by a selection of pickles and bread or crackers.

Come for: Hand-selected, single-vineyard, low-yield, artisan wine. The vineyard and boutique winery offers varieties from rose to sparkling wine. Their wine protocol focuses on a minimalist approach, which showcases each varietal’s characteristics.

Stay for: Curated wine-pairing dishes. The bespoke menu features share plates like flatbreads, croquettes and mezze plates. Five-wine flights with suggested pairings are also available in the tasting room.

Come for: Award-winning wines, fresh hot waffles, roasted corn pizza, or a slice of pie. Saddle up at the tasting bar and enjoy a five-wine tasting or experience a summertime private chuckwagon wine tasting while overlooking berry fields.

Stay for: Seasonal events and activities. Between May and December shop for hand-selected country-themed gifts, decor items, and homemade jams, jellies and preserves at the market and enjoy farm-fresh baking made on-site in the harvest kitchen.

Come for: Award-winning, high-quality British, North American and cask-conditioned beer. This new company has three brews, Wedgehead, Canoe Chase, and Flaskers. The full-flavoured yet balanced beers are available at stockists around BC.

Stay for: The new brewery and tasting lounge in the Port Kells area of Langley. Opening in summer 2020, here customers can taste all of the Smugglers’ Trail beers and eat delicious food.

Come for: A variety of unique and exceptional wines ranging from blueberry, dessert and complex reds. Each bottle is aged to perfection, made with passion and inspired by a love of winemaking.

Stay for: A taste of the blueberry dessert wine. Visit the tasting room and sample both sweet and dry wines. Using locally-grown fruit and offering a range of flavours, Springland Winery is nestled in the quiet region.

Come for: Complex, flavourful and well-balanced wines produced in small lots made from carefully chosen grape suppliers from the Okanagan Valley and Township 7 vineyards in Langley and Penticton / Naramata Beach.

Stay for: The cellar-style tasting room surrounded by green vistas and the occasional passing horse. Visitors can tour the vineyard and enjoy the picnic area, gazing at the Chardonnay and Pinot Noir vines destined for sparkling wine.

Come for: Traditional brewing techniques combined with modern-day passion and skill resulting in small-batch beer honouring tradition and featuring inventive flavours. Using the best ingredients, brewmasters create everything from traditional ales and stouts to contemporary sour and barrel-aged beer.

Stay for: Brunch, lunch or dinner. Sourcing seasonal ingredients from local farmers, foragers, cheesemakers and other artisan suppliers and purveyors, Trading Post Brewing aims to embrace community, engage with customers, brew great beer, and make great food.

Come for: Delicious, hand-crafted, small-batch wines. The traditional techniques and old-world values used in their artisanal preserves are reflected in their winemaking methods. Try the flagship 2008 D’oro, 2013 Cabernet Franc, or NV Homesteader Cider.

Stay for: An ultimate agri-tourism experience. Explore the farmgate shop and tasting room and stay for lunch. Guests are served a delicious selection of pizzas, salads, cheese and charcuterie, and soft-serve ice cream, all paired with preserves and wines.
