Everyone is invited to take in events showcasing Stó:lōculture and history in B.C.’s Chilliwack and Mission communities this summer.
“Stó:lō Tourism, Stó:lō Service Agency and the Stó:lo Resource and Research Management Centre are proud to present the Cultural Experience Series 2025, now underway,” says the event poster from Stó:lo Tourism.
Tuesdays in July welcome guests to the Xáytem Cultural Centre in Mission, at 35087 Lougheed Hwy., before the summertime series heads to Chilliwack.
“In August, the series continues every Thursday at the Coqualeetza Longhouse,” located on the Coqualeetza grounds in Chilliwack, off Vedder Road.
Meet at the Chilliwack longhouse Aug. 6, Aug. 14, Aug. 21, and Aug. 28, from 10:30 a.m. to noon.
Additional ground tours will also take place in Chilliwack on July 16, and Aug. 13, with folks meeting in front of the Stó:lōResource Centre (building 10), at 7201 Vedder Rd.
The former residential school, St. Mary’s in Mission will see two grounds tours, with participants meeting in front of the building at 34110 Lougheed Hwy., on July 17 and Aug. 20, 10:30 a.m. to noon.
