What’s your favourite image of the West Coast? Sunny beaches and towering trees? Sensational sunsets? Iconic architecture?

On the West Coast Traveller, you’ll see tens of thousands of photos representing the best of Alaska, Yukon, Alberta, British Columbia, Washington, Oregon and California.

So what’s hot right now? It’s all British Columbia!

Sunny skies at Vancouver’s Kits Beach. Photo by Margarita G Sanchez/Amateur Photography Entry.

In these days of physical and social distancing, perhaps it’s fitting that a photo of a busy and engaged Kits Beach – photographed in an earlier time by Margarita Sanchez – has captured lots of Flickr views lately.

In ‘Lakeside Sunset,’ photographer Andry Friesen’s subject strikes a pose at Sheridan Lake, BC, while in lovely Port Sidney Marina, colourful skies make for a dramatic backdrop, in Marites Monteverde’s reflection image. (See photo above)

Vancouver Island is indeed a photo-worthy destination! Rounding out our current top-five photos is a panoramic view of the Inner Harbour by Craig Cumming and a photo sharing the peace of an empty dock in a quiet moment at Horne Lake.

While British Columbia has caught the eye of photo fans lately, we love to see your images from throughout the West Coast!

Through Black Press Media’s Wanderlust Photo Contest, submit your best photos from a previous vacation in one of nine categories and enter to win. Then, starting Sept. 9 at 8 a.m., begin voting for your favourite photos in each category.

The photo with the highest number of votes will win a Designer Photo Wall Consultation from Love Sims Home. A random entry will win a $100 gift card and the top 10 entries will be featured across Black Press Media’s Western Canada news media websites.

Dream now, travel later. To plan for future adventures here and throughout the West Coast, visit us at westcoasttraveller.com, and follow us on Facebook and Instagram @thewestcoasttraveller.
