Car and truck enthusiasts will have a lot to see in Cloverdale July 8.

The National Truck Show and BCHRA Hot Rod Show will be neighbours on the Cloverdale Fairgrounds that day.

The truck show, hosted by the B.C. Vintage Truck Museum, will be in the parking lot outside the museum. The hot rod show, hosted by the British Columbia Hot Rod Association, will be in the parking lot adjacent to Elements Casino.

TRUCKS

This year, the truck show will celebrate the 100th anniversary of Kenworth Trucks.

While the truck show takes place outside the B.C. Vintage Truck Museum from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the museum will also be open for tours while the show is on.

Other exhibits for the event will include rare vehicles from private owners around B.C.

There will also be a “show and shine” portion of the truck show in which truck enthusiasts can bring down their own vehicles to be a part of the show. Entry fee is $10 – find registration forms at bctruckmuseum.org.

The B.C. Vintage Truck Museum is open Wednesdays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The museum is located on the Cloverdale Fairgrounds at 6022 – 176th St. Admission is by donation. Visit bctruckmuseum.org for more info.

HOT RODS

The seventh annual BCHRA Hot Rod Show will also roll onto the grounds outside Elements Casino, at 17755 60th Ave., and right next to the National Truck Show.

The hot road show takes place from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and organizers anticipate about 350 vehicles to take part, ranging from classic, collectables and vintage to hot rod cars and trucks. That number has already topped last year’s high-water mark of 325 vehicles.

Between 3,000 and 4,000 people are expected.

Live DJ music and a barbecue are also planned.

Admission is free and trophies will be presented at 3 p.m. The BCHRA also has 12 vendors booked so far, all selling car-related items.

Vehicle registration is $20 per vehicle. Find vendor and sponsor application forms on the BCHRA’s website.

For more info on the hot rod show, visit bchra.ca.
