English Bay

Vancouver shores meet the Pacific Ocean at English Bay. This is downtown Vancouver’s most central and prime beach for sunset watching, sunbathing and swimming. Connected to Stanley Park, English Bay makes for a great urban and relaxing destination. Explore along the water by biking, walking, cycling or even rent a paddleboat. Watch the ships sail by or explore trendy restaurants, ice cream stores, cafes and more surrounding the beach. English Bay is also home to the annual Celebration of Light fireworks display which occurs in late July and early August.

Address: Beach Ave, Vancouver, BC, V6C 3C1

Jericho Beach

Jericho Beach is an ideal family beach with naturally sandy beaches, picnic tables, a concession, and public washrooms. Get active with the parks plentiful of recreational activities from its playing fields and tennis courts. There are many trails to walk through forested areas and look out to the scenery of the North Shore Mountains.

Address: Point Grey Rd, Vancouver, BC, V6R 1B5

Kitsilano Beach

Home to Canada’s longest pool, enjoy a swim at this Kitsilano beach hotspot while overlooking the Pacific Ocean. It is Vancouver’s only heated saltwater pool and faces out onto English Bay. Watch incredible views of the ocean, the mountains, Kits Beach, and the skyline of Vancouver’s West End.

Address: 2305 Cornwall Ave., Vancouver, BC, V6J 5N2

Wreck Beach

North-America’s largest clothing-optional beach is located in Pacific Spirit Regional Park. Just 15 minutes from downtown Vancouver, Wreck Beach is adjacent to the University of British Columbia. Long steep stairs lead to the 7.8km long beach that can attract between 12 to 14,000 visitors a day in the busy season.

Address: Wreck Beach, Vancouver, BC, V6T 1Z4

Sunset Beach

Sunset Beach provides a quieter and less populated environment close to West End and downtown Vancouver. The name says it all as this beach is the prime spot to watch spectacular sunsets and sunrises. Sunset Beach features the Stanley Park Seawall which winds a route to English Bay. The beach offers a concession, public washrooms, and has access to the False Creek ferry pier.

Address: 1204 Beach Ave, Vancouver, BC, V6E 1V3
