For 134 years, the Cloverdale Rodeo & Country Fair has been rewriting the rules of what a country fair can be. This is where agricultural heritage meets an evolving suburban community.
History is a point of pride in Cloverdale. Stroll the main street and enjoy a charm reminiscent of decades past, with statues of influential community figures greeting you as you browse the unique mix of shops and restaurants.
But a closer look reveals another point of civic pride: a diverse and welcoming community, where restaurants with roots in cuisines from around the globe are nestled next to vintage shops boasting treasures reflecting traditions from myriad cultures.
This evolving community landscape is also home to one of B.C.’s largest and most storied events, the Cloverdale Rodeo and Country Fair. Over its 133 annual instalments, the festival has grown from a local showcase into one of British Columbia’s largest and most recognized events. Blending professional rodeo competitions with a vibrant country fair atmosphere, the event is made possible by strong community support, including local businesses, sponsors and hundreds of volunteers.
True to form, the 134th Cloverdale Country Fair is evolving yet again and is shaping up to be one of the most exciting editions yet. With five professional rodeo events, four headlining acts, more than 50 music performances, and an upgraded lineup of food and attractions, the event continues to incorporate new experiences while staying true to its roots.
Traditions in focus – professional rodeo events & country fair attractions
The Cloverdale Rodeo, introduced in 1946 and celebrating its 77th run in 2025, is the event’s “western centrepiece.” B.C.’s biggest rodeo features five professional performances, where 96 of the world’s top cowboys and cowgirls compete for more than $300,000 in prize money. Combining the energy of live sport with longstanding tradition, the result is a unique and unforgettable experience for all ages.
A general admission ticket, which starts at just $15, with kids 12 and younger admitted free, grants access to a full slate of entertainment, including live shows, music and family-friendly attractions. Annual favourites such as lumberjack shows, pro wrestling and the Buckaroo Barn are just a few of the anticipated mainstays.
At the north end of the fairgrounds, visit the Indigenous Village, opening another window on the area’s history where you can engage with cultural showcases sharing the story of the peoples who have inhabited the region since time immemorial.

A new vibe – Action Zone, Roll-A-Rama and global foods
Alongside the history and tradition, the Country Fair also provides opportunities to connect with fresh additions. The new Action Zone is the perfect example.
For a decade, the World Roundup Freestyle Skateboarding Championship has welcomed competitors from around the globe to Cloverdale; this year, the roundup is expanding onto a new stage at the south end of the Fairgrounds. Visit this new “Action Zone” venue to take in skateboarding battles, BMX shows and street dancing, all while DJs keep the energy high.
A short walk away from the Action Zone is Roll-A-Rama, another new attraction in the Cloverdale Arena. By day, this venue will host public roller skating alternating with bouts of hard-hitting roller derby action. By night, it transforms into a roller disco party.

Live music and entertainment
Live music plays a significant role in the overall experience, with six distinct stages hosting both emerging artists and well-known Canadian performers. Take in a diverse and inclusive musical lineup, from the high-energy CR Corral Main Stage and Longhorn Saloon to the relaxed Hops & Vines acoustic sets and Indigenous Village performances.
Volunteer-driven success
At the end of the day, the event always comes back to its community roots. More than 300 volunteers help bring the event to life each year, welcoming over 70,000 attendees, and their efforts raise funds directly toward community programs and local initiatives.
In 2024, for example, the 50-50 draw prize set a record at $44,490, with half of the proceeds supporting the Cloverdale Youth Initiative Foundation, which provides scholarships, supports youth events and provides resources to charities within its mandate. As with everything in Cloverdale, it comes back to a unique sense of community.
