• Local sturgeon can grow more than four metres long (14 ft) and weigh more than 680 kilograms (1,500 lb).
• Harrison Lake is 60 km long and close to 275 metres deep (900 ft) in some areas.
• Agassiz is famous for Harrison Hot Springs. Visit the hot springs year-round by swimming in the indoor public pool, which is sourced by the two hot springs at the south end of the lake.

Weather

Kent enjoys a wet but moderate to mild climate in winter with drier summers.

Destination BC is developing a new campaign to promote hyper-local travel where residents are “tourists-in-their own hometown,” while practising the COVID-19 safety protocols as recommended by the B.C. Provincial Health Officer. Many B.C. parks are now open, and national parks were to open as of June 1.

Getting Here

Vehicle: From Vancouver head east on Trans-Canada Hwy/BC-1 E to Agassiz. Looking for a view? Take the Scenic 7 highway from Coquitlam (Highway 7). If travelling from the US, take the Sumas border crossing in Abbotsford.

Flying: Abbotsford International Airport is about 42 minutes away and Vancouver International Airport is nearly two hours away.
