The day is finally here for mountain goers and snow sport aficionados as the slopes are set to open at southern British Columbia’s Big White Ski Resort.
“With eight centimetres of new snow in the lower elevation overnight it has been decided to open the resort for skiing and snowboarding Thursday, Dec. 4 at 8:45 a.m.,” Big White Ski Resort staff announced on social media Tuesday morning, Dec. 2.
On the resort’s website, they announced that single-day lift tickets will be discounted by 50 per cent for Thursday, Dec. 4 and Friday, Dec. 5 only.
Limited runs will be available from the Ridge Rocket chairlift, Bullet chairlift, Plaza chairlift and gondola.
The resort asks patrons to stay on runs open by ski patrol only. This comes after the resort had to delay the opening in late November due to the lack of snow on the mountain.
